Big Kahuna Burger

Pulp Fiction a classic film that so many people love. What stands out is the Hawaiian Restaurant named The Big Kahuna where their most famous burger situates! Of course we had to try this!
Binging with Babish, one of Joes favourite YouTube chefs. He creates food depicted from film and TV so when he braught the recipe out for this burger we HAD to try it.
The recipe is so simple, burger, bun, ketchup, onion, pineapple slices and teriyaki sauce! I know teriyaki sauce isnt a first that comes to my mind either for a burger and quite honestly we couldnt find it in the shop so we settled for teriyaki stir fry sauce. Its the same right?
First things first, we have to caramilse the onions. For this we used red onion and added a bit of sugar and white wine vinegar and let it cook for about 20 minutes until soft. In the meantime we prepared our burgers. We used already prepared burgers just as we didnt have enough time so get the right parts of meat, mince it all up and put together. So i added some salt, pepper and garlic and i treated it as done!
Once the onions were cooked we put them in a dish to the side, wiped the pan clean and chargrilled the pineapple slices until they were no longer "juicy". This didnt take too long to do.
Now the hard part-creating smash burgers! A hot iron skillet is needed and something big and flat so you can squish your burgers. Make sure the pan is oh hot damn!!!! Use your flat item to press down on the burger and voila! Each side should only take a couple of minutes. Just before its ready put your slice of cheese on and let it melt!!
Once you have buttered your bun in the pan add the teriyaki sauce to the bottom along with the cheese. Next add your burger onion and pineapple. You will not be disappointed!!!
Its so juicy and honestlu the teriyaki makes its! I am going to be using teriyaki alot more now in my food! This pulp fiction burger does have its own spin on it but i feel like im right there in the diner conspiring up some trouble!
8/10 cant wait to have again!!
